Diamond Robinson, 6, Fatally Struck By Car While Crossing Englewood Street

A 6-year-old girl was killed Saturday night after a car struck her and a 16-year-old family friend as they crossed a street in a crosswalk on Chicago's South Side.

Diamond Robinson was struck about 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of 70th and Loomis in the city's Englewood neighborhood, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Driver Thomas Young, 36, was reportedly heading south on Loomis before striking the pair. Young reportedly got out of the car and held Diamond until paramedics and police arrived on the scene. The 16-year-old girl with the young girl at the time of the collision sustained a broken arm.
